10 Megapixel Samsung SCH-B600 phone Nears Worldwide launch

Remember our disappointment last may when we heard that the worlds first 10 Megapixel camera phone Samsung SCH-B600 will be sold only in Korea? Well, things should soon get better. During CES show in Las Vegas Samsung announced that it is ready to introduce it’s flagship cameraphone to the world wide market.

In the design of SCH-B600 phone Samsung had to depart from it’s “Ultra Thin” cellphone design philosophy. But it could not be helped. There was no way to fit 10 mpx camera module with autofocus and 3x optical zoom into the anorexic body style of “Ultra Edition“. Still the final result turned out to be quite nice, if you take into account that you are carrying full fledged digital camera as well as a cellphone in your pocket. The phone measures 126(L)x53(W)x20.4(H) mm and weights 173g, which is still better result then Nokia Nseries managed to achieve.

And of course Samsung SCH-B600 is full of other goodies thatno high end cellphone can do without like - 16 Million Color (2.2″ 240×320) TFT Screen, Satellite-DMB receiver with PIP function, Multi-Format Music & Video Support, external MMCmicro card, TV-Output Support, Business Card Reader, Digital Power Amp, Document Viewer, Advanced Voice Recognition, Audio Book Application (Chinese,Japanese,English,Korean) and Bluetooth / USB.

Currently Samsung has announced this phone only for CDMA 1x EV-DO (800MHz) networks, but I think GSM version should follow soon.
