Tappity is quite a young service, but I don't think that it's used in the way that netvibes is.

Personally, I use the search on tappity the most. I often find myself in conversations about movies and inevitably a question comes up about a particular actor and what movies he's appeared in. From the very first line in tappity, I've got my IMDB search at my fingertips. Same with Yelp. Or google local...

As far as feeds go, I'm using a rather small screen (samsung a900) and those 3-5 lines take up most of my screen....just not my style. Plus I have bloglines mobile on my tappity account.

I guess it just depends on how you use your phone....

Hi Scott,

I checked Tappity and I'm not impressed. At least for now.

Just how is it better then mobile Netvibes?

A feed taking over the whole page? But that's just 3 to 5 headlines on a cellphone screen. I have no problem with that. And I can add any feed I want.

I am not surfing the net on my cellphone looking for interesting sites that have mobile version. I find the places to visit and read on my PC.

What I want on my phone, is for some of them to be easily accessible there. As well as my latest e-mails, appointments and other things. Netvibes gives me this and Tappity doesn't.

Social media angle and user submissions of mobile sites on Tappity looks interesting, but that's not enough.

Having said that, Tapitty looks like a very young service with a lot of ways to grow.

And from a point of view of a person that goes to the net primarily via his cellphone it might be great.

I just think that you won't find a lot of such persons in the U.S. , so you might rethink this requirement for U.S Zip code on your registration form

I like the concept of accessing Netvibes modules on my phone, but I don't think it was executed very well. While each individual module is nice, the sum of them make the page long an not easy to navigate. For instance, just one feed will take up the entire page.

On a similar note, you might want to check out Tappity.com:

http://www.tappity.com

It's also a customizable mobile homepage, except on Tappity, users aren't limited to what they want to add. In fact, they can submit links and searches themselves, then participate in a rating system. Social bookmarking meets Mobile Search.

[...] According to Unwired View you’ll then be able to do things like view your ToDo list, check the weather, and view whether you have new Gmail messages. Some of the things are read-only when being used on a mobile device, such as the ToDo list, note taking, and calendar, but one thing you can still use are the search fields. This will give you a central location to access the search engines that you use the most, which might save you from having to type in multiple URL’s to find what you’re looking for.
[...] Netvibes ToGo is accessible through http://m.netvibes.com, which will give you access to your Netvibes desktop on your mobile screen. This works from any xHTML-based browser, which basically includes hundreds of millions of current Cellphone globally from many, many carriers. We love mobile RSS, and now you can too if you’re a Netvibes fanatic. Read the great review from Theunwired HERE! [...]
