Samsung C170 - thin and affordable

Did you look at the super thin Samsung Ultra Edition phones like upcoming 5.9 mm Samsung U100 or currently selling 6.9 mm Samsung X820 with envy, but could not bring yourself up to spend hundreds of dollars on it?

Despair not, Samsung C170 comes to the rescue. If you are looking for just a phone it might be a great choice.

Just a couple of millimeters thicker then it’s Ultra brothers, unlocked Samsung C170 will cost less then $100, so with carrier subsidies you will be getting it for free.

Of course you’ll have to settle with just a phone. Samsung C170 has no fancy bells an whistles and come sonly with:

  • GPRS Class 8 Connectivity (900/1800 MHz)
  • 1.51″ 128×128 65K Display
  • FM Radio, 16-bit polyphony, WAP 1.2.1, Speakerphone
  • Voice recorder, 550 entry phonebook
  • 600 Kb of memory
  • Dimensions: 105×42x8.9 mm
  • Weight: 72g

Samsung C170 is expected to go on sale in Europe this month

Touched my heart at first sight. Beautiful, slim, affordable, quality of sound is best for FM and no need to think twice to purchase it.

hi tina i think u dont know how to use a mobile phone. C170 is having calendar, reminder and and many wallpapers. for your kind information. go to organiser for calendar and remaindar and go to mobile settings/displaysettings/wallpapers for wallpaper

With only 7 wallpapers of stupid things like two cherries or a violin or a snowboarder, there is no plain wallpaper option, so you are stuck with an inane picture.

Texting is frustrating as extra characters (such as ! $ or &) require you to change language format, then press the number button up to TEN times, then re-enter language format and return to predictive text. It means you have to write your message and then go back and do all the punctuation. FRUSTRATING!

Yet for fifty-nine Australian dollars, it is worth it. The C170 is thinner than the battery of my old phone! It’s great and I will get used to the menu and texting in a few weeks, so I’m happy.
