Sony Ericsson M610i (?) Elena Approved by FCC

The rumors about Sony Ericsson M610i smartphone has started flying around the net at the same time as about 5 megapixel Sony Ericsson K850i Sofia. But, unlike SE K850i Cybershot, SE M610i has not been announced last week and we are still waiting for it.

Also there has been some confusion under what code name Sony Ericsson M610i is being developed. Depending on where and when you look, SE M610i went under codename Lizy or Elena.

While we cannot help much with number confusion, now we can confirm that both of these phones – Lizy and Elena do really exist. Lizy has been cleared by FCC a month ago. And now Sony Ericsson Elena also has been approved for sale in the U.S.

The FCC site was only able to provide us with the connectivity options for Sony Ericsson M610i Elena handset and they are – Tri Band GSM 900/1800/1900, UMTS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

From the previous leaked pics and rumors we also know that Elena will have 3.2 megapixel camera, QVGA 2.6″ TFT display (320×240 pixels) and 160MB of internal memory.

Well, the external pictures and users manual for Lizy is slated to become public in a couple of weeks and for Elena in a little over a month, so we should at least be able to clear the model number confusion by then .
