5 mpx Samsung SGH-G800: 3x optical zoom, microSDHC card and HSDPA support
The leaks about Samsung SGH-G800 3G 5mpx cameraphone started coming out almost at the same time as we heard about 2.5G Samsung SGH-G600 5mpx camera phone.
Now, thank’s to several Dutch mobile site reps, who were present at Samsung dealer presentation event in Netherlands, we get almost complete picture of what Samsung G800 will look like.
First the some good quality Samsung G800 pics, from LetsGoMobile:
Now the cool stuff. Check out this picture, taken by the guys from GSMHelpDesk.nl:
It’s been rumored that Samsung G800 will have an optical zoom. Now it’s confirmed – 5mpx SGH-G800 comes with 3x optical zoom and Xenon flash as well.
Another bit of cool news was, that in addition to microSD, Samsung SGH-G800 supports micrSDHC memory cards as well. Now, currently available 4GB microSDHC cards are not that interesting. But bigger, 8GB cards are already on the way and the specification for microSDHC supports memory card sizes of up to 32GB. And that’s a lot of potential storage for a mobile device.
The rest we already knew. Samsung G800 is a tri-band GSM/EDGE, 3.6 Mbps HSDPA, 5 megapixel cameraphone, measuring 103 x 51 x 16.8 mm, with 2.4″ QVGA display and Bluetooth 2.0/USB 2.0 connectivity options.
When I checked out 5mpx Samsung G600 at IFA Berlin, the main thing I found missing if G600 wanted to compete with the likes of Nokia N95 8GB, Sony Ericsson k850i Cybershot or LG KU990 Viewty – was 3G HSDPA connectivity.
Samsung SGH-G800 gives us that and a few more really cool features to boot.
