HP with it’s iPAQ 310/314 Travel Companion is not the only new entrant into multimedia/GPS navigation device category. French site Mobinaute got their hands on the user manuals for a couple of similar devices from Asus – R300 and R700.
Asus R300 is lower end stand alone GPS navigator that will be able to play various media files, including MP3, WMA, AAC audio and MPEG-4, H.263 video.
Asus R300 Multimedia Navigator will be 13.7 mm thick, weight 300 gr and have 3.5″ touchscreen with 400 MHz Samsung CPU, 128/64 MB of memory and 1300 mAh battery inside. It will also come with built-in FM radio, Bluetooth 2.0, MicroSD memory card slot, optional TMC and ability to receive SMS messages.
Asus R700 is high end stand alone navigator with big 4.3″ 480×272 px touchscreen, 126 X 80 X 13,5 mm dimensions, 260 gram weight and integrated RDS-TMC traffic receiver. It’s other specs are pretty similar to Asus R300: 400 MHz Samsung CPU, 128/65 Mb memory, audio.video player and Bluetooth 2.0.
Both Asus R700 and Asus R300 are expected to launch in Europe this November .
