With this kind of media support, it is not long before Apple topples MS. then asll you Apple missionaries will have some tough times, when everybody is converted, there is no need for missionaries (especially that they are usuallay contrarians, who must support the underdog, no matteer what), that’ll be quite a dissonanse!

Well, I never said that HTC Omni/Dream is “iPhone like”. That was a direct quote from Forbes.

But with the iPhone Apple “owns” a full tuchscreen phone category, so it’s inevitable that any phone that has it’s full surface as a touchscreen and something like multi-touch, or even single finger-touch interface (like LG Viewty) will be compared to iPhone and will pegged by someone to be “iPhone like”.

Even if only for a sound-bite.

these comments begin to irritate and in this case, they are visibly wrong. H

Firstly, if this device looks “like iPhone”, then it canbe said with same logic that the iPhone looks like all the original HTCs/iMates/XDAs…

Does the iPhone have a keyboard? From Janualry 2007 and on, any rectangular pone with touchscreen is an iPhone copy? iPuke.

Well it’s just a theory, as I said.

But this HTC Omni picture is from HTC roadmap that leaked in July and correctly predicted HTC Sedna, HTC Touch Duo and HTC Cruise.

The roadmap file that I have was last edited by HTC rep in April and HTC Omni was added to it on Jan.16th, 2006

So, I think, that initially HTC Omni was planned as WM6/Touch Flo device, but then Google came along and HTC decided to use it as a prototype for Android.

They may even have WM6 version still
