First pics of 5 mpx, GPS equipped Sony Ericsson Cybershot. Kt780i, K830i or K870i?
As cellphone vendors are finalizing their line-ups for Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, more and more info about the new devices leaks out.
We already had premature website poster for E-Ten V900 Glofiish TV phone, somewhat dubious leak of Samsung i900 5 mpx, WM6.1 smartphone, the news about upcoming Nokia’s E66 and E71 business and Nokia E96 multimedia handset.
Now it’s time for Sony Ericsson.
Today, thank’s to Chinese site PCOnline.com.cn, we bring you the new 5 megapixel, GPS equipped Sony Ericsson Cybershot K780i, K830i or even K870i . We are not yet sure, where this handset will fit fit in the SE numbering line.

The known specs of Sony Ericsson Cybershot K870i/ K830i/K780i include 16M color QVGA display, built-in GPS sensor and 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus and LED flash.
The reason we are not sure which handset this one is upgrading, is both the looks and specs. From the looks of it, this Cybershot phone most closely matches K770i, so it might be numbered SE K780i.

But the bump-up in specs is significant enough, for it to be an upgrade to K810i Cybershot, too. With a Sony Ericsson K830i number tag.
The least likely suggestion is for this handset to be an upgrade SE K850i. The absence of Xenon flash would be clearly a downgrade for the photography feature phone, and inclusion of GPS chip is nowhere near enough for a significant upgrade. I would expect the new flagship Sony Ericsson K870 Cybershot to come with either 3x optical zoom, or 8 megapixel camera, or both with the first one being the most likely proposition.

Anyway, it’s not that long until Barcelona Show, and we’ll know all the cool details by then.
