Samsung i900 5 mpx WM 6.1 smartphone confirmed (sort of). Available in September 2008
When we posted the news about the upcoming Samsung i900 5 megapixel WM 6.1 full touchscreen smartphone last week, we had our doubts whether it was real.
The image of Samsung SGH-i900 was so watermarked, that you could barely seen the phone on it, and the user interface on the picture looked nothing like the proper Windows Mobile smartphone should have.
Well, today we get additional confirmation that Samsung i900 maybe real after all. MobiFrance reports that they have contacted their sources in Samsung France, and confirmed that Samsung i900 Windows Mobile phone is indeed in the works. It should be announced during Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and will become available in September 2008.
And, to help us imagine what Samsung SGH-i900 will look like, the helpful guys at MobiFrance have made this Photoshop mock-up, by taking the picture of Samsung F490 and slapping Windows Mobile screen on it:

To remind you, the rumored Samsung i900 specs included GSM/UMTS, 7.2 Mbps HSDPA connectivity, Windows Mobile 6.1 OS, 3.5″ 240×400 px touchscreen, 5 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 EDR, integrated GPS and FM Radio, TV out, 8GB of Flash memory, 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery, dimensions 112×56×12.5 mm.
