MotoMing 2 Motorola A1600 on sale in China already

The first information about the upcoming Motorola A1600 Motoming 2 Linux smartphone turned up on the Net already last year.

Not much has been heard about this phone since then, though I thought that Ming2 might be one of the phones featured in the leaked Motorola promo video, and might be announced at CTIA in April.

Well, today a prototype of A1600 MotoMing 2 turned up on sale in a market in Shenzen, China and we can bring you some live pictures of it:

Motorola A1600 Ming 2 phone is a touchscreen Linux smartphone with 3.2 mpx camera, Wi-Fi connectivity and built-in GPS, and is a successor of a very popular in China MotoMing handset.

Oh, and I was wrong identifying a phone in a leaked promo video as MotoMing 2. That phone is more likely another version of RAZR2 handset. (RAZR2 V10, anyone?)

And, when I think more about it, it’s only logical. If, as I believe, the leaked video was for Latin American region, there’s no point putting a phone destined for Asia in there.

I call it fake, Staska. It uses the EZX Linux system (dead and buried for new phones by Motorola) and the theme looks REAL equal to A1200′s default black theme. Looks like a redesign of A1200.

Oh God It’s not a Fake,(http://mobile.zol.com.cn/85/859747.html)unfortunatly it is the A1600. The design is not bad but for the linux OS, it is outdated. i had a Motorola A1200, fantastic phone , no bugs , great design, nice OS which we can modify but we are now in 2008, they must change the OS to the new Linux Motomagx. I’m already very dissapointed.
