Now, we’ve all been waiting for Motorola to announce some really cool new handsets at CTIA wireless today. And I hope that some big announcements are yet to come.
Because the one phone they announced just yet - Motorola Smart-Rider In-Vehicle phone - might have gone down as one of more interesting April Fools.
If we haven’t already seen this Moto Smart-Rider M990 passing through the FCC.
In-Vehicle GSM phone with Bluetooth, “robust built-in microphone and speakerphone”, and interactive voice activation. Seriously? In 2008?
Now that’s a mass market bestseller, especially with the cool looks like these:

Thank god they have at least added added GPS navigation, “big” 2.8″ display, “precise on-screen directions and detailed maps”, “real-time traffic reports and automatic re-routing” and multiple user profiles for “secure access to personalized phonebook settings”.
At least I know I’m not getting a severe case of Deja Vu circa 1988.
