Phew. The Nokia N-Gage team has quietly launched the official version of Nokia’s N-Gage 2.0 following the closing of the the N-gage First Access program on March 27th.
Symbian Freak even once worried that webmaster made a mistake and released whole platform accidentally. However, fortunately, it confirmed already.
The application is compatible with Nokia’s N81, N81 8GB, N82, N95, and N95 8GB phones — with the N73, N93 and N93i all listed as ‘coming soon.
This time the application offers five games only, including Brain Challenge, System Rush: Evolution, Hooked On: Creates of the Deep, Asphalt 3: Street Rules and World Series of Poker.
They also have a good list of games “coming soon”, including:
- FIFA 08
- Tetris
- Block Breaker Deluxe
- Space Impact Kappa Base
- Brothers in Arms
- Dogz
- Mile High Pinball
- The Sims 2 Pets
- Worms World Party
- Midnight Pool
- Pro Series Golf
- Snakes Subsonic
- Bounce Boing Voyage
- ONE
According to All About N-Gage site, when you start to install it, the old N-Gage ‘preview’ is removed from the menu screen.
Please keep in mind, if you participated in the N-Gage First Access, you are no longer supporting the pre-release version of the N-Gage application; the player name and password you created before will not be valid for full rollout; game licenses you purchased during First Access will carry over into the commercial launch; and saved games, Point Pickups, and N-Gage Points accrued will be reset, to give everyone a fresh start.
If you currently own a compatible handset, you can download it here and get yourself setup with a 7MB .sisx client. Just install it via the usual PC Suite route.
Yeah, Nokia already created a successful role model for its service: The games, the device and even the community are all ready now.
