Samsung U800 Soul-like candybar, Samsung i900 WM 6.1 touchscreen, and Samsung L870 Symbian S60 smartphones show up

Recently Samsung has been quite active showing off their as yet unannounced handsets in various foreign countries.

Ukraine and Holland has been the preferred locations for now. And today the Dutch branch of Samsung is having a treat for us again.

Apparently there was a Dutch telecom event called Televisie 2008, and Samsung had showed up there with no less then 3 new, as yet unannounced, handsets.

First of, spotted by PortableGear.nl is Samsung U800:

With a full brushed metal body, Samsung U800 somewhat reminds Samsung Soul U900, and the numbering scheme also suggests that it might be a cheaper, simpler addition to the Soul line of branded phones.

As you can see from the picture, Samsung U800 is a quad-band GSM, GPRS, UMTS candybar with 3.2 megapixel camera, FM Radio, Bluetooth 2.0, USB 2.0 and 111×46x9.8 mm dimensions.

Another handset shown off during the event was picked up by GSMHelpDesk, and it’s none other then Samsung i900 Windows Mobile 6.1 smartphone, that we talked about few months ago:

Well, as you can see Samsung SGH i900 full touchscreen smartphone is real after all, and it truly runs on Windows Mobile 6.1. Other then that, the confirmed specs of Samsung i900 include 5 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, triband GSM, GPRS, UMTS, Bluetooth 2.0 and USB 2.0 connectivity, and 112×56x13 mm dimensions. No GPS though.

The question about other specs remains open, but Samsung has obviously left out a lot of interesting tidbits. GSMHelpdesk says that they know that Samsung i900 also features GPS receiver and expandable 8GB memory (which probably means standard microSDHC memory card slot).

Other earlier reported specs include 7.2 Mbps HSDPA connectivity,  huge 3.5″ 240×400 touchscreen display and 1500 mAh battery,  FM radio and TV out port.  But we’ll just have to wait and see if all of these specs pan out.

The third device, spotted by MobileCowboys.nl is Samsung L870 Symbian Smartphone:

Samsung L870 is a Qudband GSM, GPRS, UMTS slider running on Symbian S60, with 3 megapixel camera FM radio, BT 2.0 and USB 2.0, and measures at 102×50x13.55 mm
