58 US Markets to get AT&T Mobile TV
AT&T subscribers in 58 areas around the US can now sign up for the its new mobile TV service. Dubbed AT&T Mobile TV, this new service will provide subscribers from Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, Seattle and Washington, D.C. access to mobile TV. As of this time’s writing, this only works with FLO technology.
AT&T’s mobile TV service will offer much of the same channels as its competitor Verizon Wireless does, CBS, Comedy Central, ESPN, FOX, MTV, NBC, and NBC News. It does offer two channels that are exclusive to their mobile TV service, though. And these are PIX and CNN Mobile Live.
Since we mentioned above that the new service only works with FLO technology, you might be wondering what handsets from AT&T are FLO-enabled. Right now, there are only two: the $400 LG Vu and the $300 Samsung Access.
AT&T Mobile TV is available for $15 a month of unlimited access and this can be upgraded to a package that includes unlimited mobile Web browsing and unlimited access to AT&T Wireless’s on-demand video clips for just $30 a month. So if you’re looking to spend more time with your phone through mobile TV, this is just another ticket.
