Well dat sucks.

But what can you do about it?

I talked to Nokia or SE rep at MWC 2008 (really don't remember who) about this issue, wondering why FM transmitters started appearing in the phones only now.? After all, it's pretty simple tech, compared to all the IP and tech that goes into RF chips these days. iPod accessories in U.S. were able to do FM to car stereo years ago.

The answer was, that it only just become legal to do this in most countries. So as more countries get around on tweaking their RF regulations, things will start to get better. And, I'm sure, it will get remedied via software updates.

In the meantime, there's a fertile ground for workarounds. And if something goes wrong, just to a software update to restore everything to default settings, and the warranty should still work.
