We’ve heard the rumors and we’ve seen the photos, but now Verizon has finally put out an official announcement for what they say is the very first handset to come with an integrated and detachable Bluetooth headset, the LG Decoy.
The LG Decoy is a compact slider phone that, other than having a built-in Bluetooth headset, comes with a 2.2-inch 240 x 320 pixel LCD screen, 2 megapixel camera capable of recording video, support for High-speed EV-DO and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR.
It also has a built-in music player, for which you can access Verizon’s V CAST Music service, and you can fill ‘er up with up to nearly 8GB of tunes via the microSD card slot.
It’s VZ Navigator-capable, supports Mobile IM and chat, and has a one-touch speakerphone and speaker-independent voice commands.
But the real test to the LG Decoy comes with the integrated Bluetooth headset, and how well it works overall with the phone itself. According to the manufacturer-rated battery life, the LG Decoy should be able to last nearly 4 hours with talk and 330 hours on standby.
And the headset? It says here it would only serve you up to 2 hours of talk time and 80 hours of standby. Now that’s not really something to get very concerned about, but still, it’s a very low manufacturer rating on battery life, and some people who need a long-lasting solution might want to look elsewhere.
If you fancy, you can purchase the LG Decoy now from the Verizon Wireless online store for $179.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate. This will also be available offline at Verizon Wireless Communication Stores, including those in Circuit City.
