Samsung i740 - new Windows Mobile smartphone in the works
While the latest Samsung WM6 smartphones like Samsung Omnia i900 or Samsung i780 are all the rage, they carry a hefty price tag too, so not everyone can afford them.
And while a lot of people might want to use the many possibilities latest smartphones and add-on software provides, not everyone would want to rack-up hefty mobile data download charges on their current plans.
Samsung SGH-i740 seems to be designed just for such a person:

Samsung i740 is a 2.5G Windows Mobile professional full touchscreen smartphone with fast chip, GPS navigation, fast CPU, pretty good 3 megapixel camera and a novel navigation wheel.
Other Samsung i740 specs include:
- Quadband GSM (850/900/1800/1900) GPRS/EDGE connectivity
- Windows Mobile professional 6.1
- Monahan LV 624 MHz CPU
- 2.8 QVGA 320×240px touchscreen with VibeTonz haptics feedback
- 3 megapixel camera with business card reader
- Built-in GPS
- FM Radio
- microSD memory card slot (up to 4GB)
- Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, USB 2.0
- Dimensions: 107×59x13.8mm
The missing things in Samsung i740 are QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi connectivity and 3G/HSPA support.
But, as I said earlier, if you are not too big on mobile browsing, Samsung SGH-i740 looks like a pretty good business/multimedia smartphone.
