Worldwide pricelist for iPhone 3G plans

The worldwide release of the iPhone 3G has been the most anticipated event of the summer for any gadget fan. As customers lined up at stores in 22 different countries to purchase one last weekend, it is natural for them to wonder how the prices of the iPhone compare to other countries.

Well, we decided to help you  and make a list of every country’s iPhone costs so you can compare them yourself.

We compiled the iPhone price range for each mobile provider, along with the range of cell phone plans, length of contract and whether or not a prepaid option is offered. We also threw in links to each website to make it easier for you to get specifics on each separate rate plan.

It’s really strange to see how different some of the plans are. iPhones range from free (in the UK) to almost $1000 (Belgium). Contracts also range from prepaid/no contract all the way to 3 year commitments. We find it very interesting how non-standardized everything really is. And what a pain in the arse it must have been for Apple negotiate and track.

For now we have compiled the info on 30 countries where the iPhone 3G plans were announced more or less officially. And with around 70 countries slated to release the iPhone, we are going to keep our eye on the pricing schemes for the countries where it’s yet to come.

We would love to hear from you and do welcome your comments on what needs to be added or changed so we can continue to keep you as informed and educated as possible. Enjoy!
