Samsung i8510 Innov8 to hit UK streets via Carphone Warehouse
One of the world’s first 8 megapixel camera phones will be coming to the UK exclusively by way of Carphone Warehouse later this year. Not only does Samsung i8510 Innov8 hold one of the most advanced mobile imaging tools as part of its feature-set, but it’s also a very advanced smartphone, running on Symbian v9.3 with S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2.
To be known in the UK only as the Samsung i8510, it will be launched by Carphone Warehouse by early September 2008 with an as of yet unspecified price. We predict that it will cost upwards of 700 Euros, though that’s not really surprising given the vast amount of features this phone possesses.
The Samsung i8510 boasts up to 16GB of internal memory, built-in GPS with Assisted-GPS technology, FM radio with RDS and HSDPA network support.
Its screen measures 2.8-inches diagonally and is a 16 million color QVGA TFT LCD. It also features a built-in accelerometer and optical mouse, while a 1200 mAh in-box battery should keep you snapping away with its crowing glory all day.
And speaking of its crowning glory, its an 8 megapixel camera capable of 120 fps QVGA video recording and 30 fps VGA video recording. Yup, and according to the recent Samsung i8510 camera review from Mobile Review, it works as advertised. Samsung could’ve made it better with a Xenon flash, though (It’s only got LED).
Carphone Warehouse has not revealed official pricing yet, although we expect to learn more about it as the launch date draws near.
