Nokia is set to announce two new handsets for its prized Nseries range on August 25th, both of which have not yet been identified. But if we were to guess, we’d say these new handsets would most likely be the Nokia N85 and N79.
Both the Nokia N85 and N79 have already spent a decent amount of time in the Internet rumor mill, and the N85 has even been spotted directly from the FCC’s web site. There have been no other Nokia handsets leaked out recently, and the touchscreen Nokia Tube is an exception since it appears to be headed for the XpressMusic range.
So while we can’t vouch for proof that the Nokia N85 and N79 will indeed be announced on August 25th, we do know that there will be a special online pre-launch event held one week ahead of it, on August 18th. The said online pre-launch event will be by-invitation only, and Nokia has already started handing out invitations.
It will be held at 8AM UK time, which translates to 3AM EST, still August 25th. We can’t warrant that this pre-launch event will really be when Nokia unleashes its new 5 megapixel cameraphone monsters, but come on, this is Nseries we’re talking about. It should bring something useful.
