HTC Touch HD and HTC Touch 3G officially break cover

The Taiwan-based HTC has unveiled the official web pages of HTC Touch HD and HTC Touch 3G, its latest Windows Mobile smartphones. While the Touch HD was seen before in leaked photos, the Touch 3G is a completely new appearance.

The “HD” from HTC Touch HD’s name stands for “High Definition”, as the smartphone sports a wide 3.8-inch touchscreen display with 480 x 800 pixels (how do you like that, iPhone?).

The Web page of Touch HD was unavailable for several hours, but it can now be found here.

Besides the big touchscreen that I already talked about, the new HTC offers:

The Touch HD will first hit the market in Europe, via major carriers, sometime in the fourth quarter of 2008. Of course, its price is not known for the moment.

HTC Touch 3G (pictured above) takes a lot from the design of HTC Touch but comes with more advanced specs:

HTC Touch 3G will be commercially available starting October, in four color versions: sophisticated black, modern brown, sparkle blue and noble gold. No pricing details yet.

According to the official specs, HTC Touch 3G "will not" support Wi-Fi because it already supports it.

Wi-Fi: IEEE 802.11 b/g, more exactly. Check out those official specs better :)

Erm, the first time the product page of Touch 3G appeared, it said that Wi-Fi IS featured. Now it's gone.

    No Wi-FI then.
  • Erm,
