New and yet even more high tech phones were just released in Japan. One is water proof phone. (Whether one is adamant about watching tv under water, or talking in the shower.) The point is, the iphone might but super slim and unusual hip look, but my friends in Japan would not give up all the convenient high tech savvy things there phones do for a slimer and (basically) less advanced phone. I know that Phone companies there are close to releasing 4G network. O.o and the U.S. is just now starting with 3G.

F-01a (water proof phone)
http://www.nttdocomo.co.jp/product/foma/prime/f...

N-01a (basically iphone...little thicker, but does so much more!)
http://www.nttdocomo.co.jp/product/foma/prime/n...

Sh-03a (A screen that 180s and has an 8, yes EIGHT Mega Pixel digital camera!)
http://www.nttdocomo.co.jp/product/foma/prime/s...

(all are touch screens, btw)

funny artical too.
http://www.tranism.com/weblog/2007/01/sorry_iph...

Still, in Japan, most phone way more than a 3.5 megapixel camera---mine has 5.2 megapixels. It simply will not be as big as it is in America, because when Americans are thinking that 3G networks are new, we've had it for years. Now, it's starting to become 3.5 G here. It's like, '3G? What's the big deal?' here.
There may be Apple fans in Japan that might like this phone, but not ordinary Japanese mobile phone users.
