Sneak Peek: BlackBerry OS 5.0 screenshots
RIM has been very slow with their BlackBerry updates, but it should be coming along in due time. The next one is for OS 5.0. It keeps all the necessary features found in older versions of BlackBerry firmware, but adds a few new features that users should find welcome.
It doesn’t look like RIM is prepping for a release of the BlackBerry 5.0 OS any time soon, but they’re getting there slowly with their new devices. The BlackBerry Bold and BlackBerry Pearl Flip both have OS 4.6.0, the BlackBerry Javelin has 4.6.1 and the BlackBerry Storm will have 4.7.0.

For now all the new features are only available to the devices mentioned above, but when RIM finally releases the BlackBerry 5.0 OS, older models will be able to take advantage of it as well.

Some of the new features include an improved Clock app, and a currently non-working Files app, which is said to allow network share access.
