Blackberry Storm 9500 and 9530 gets official on Verizon and Vodafone. Finally

The new Blackberry Storm, launched officially today, probably was the most leaked consumer electronics product of the year.

We’ve first heard about it as the touchscreen Blackberry Thunder way back in May. Since then practically every little detail about the new handset has been revealed to us via various scoops and leaks.

Blackberry Storm has created quite a buzz and anticipation on the net, but at the cost of Blackberry Storm  fatigue and a pretty anticlimactic reception  on the announcement day.

So to sum up what you already know, here’s the official pic of the new Blackberry Storm:

The Blackberry Storm official specs are:

The most interesting feature with which  Blackberry tries to differentiate the Storm is “clickable touchscreen” that:

… actually depresses ever so slightly when the screen is pressed.  The user distinctly feels the screen being pressed and released with a gentle “click,” similar to the feeling of a key on a physical keyboard or a button on a mouse. The “clickable” touch-screen gives the user positive confirmation that they have made a selection and the result is a dramatically enhanced touch interface and a highly-intuitive typing experience.

Sounds pretty cool, but we’ll have to wait for some hands on reviews to see how it really works.

Blackberry Storm will be sold  exclusively through  Verizon in US and through Vodafone in Europe and Asia Pacific.
