Samsung JetSet outed in the US by Cricket
A far cry from D980, the other Samsung phone that went official today, Samsung JetSet SCH-r550 is a basic clamshell released by Cricket in the US.
Subsidiary of Leap Wireless, Cricket is known for offering low and mid end devices to its subscribers. The new Samsung JetSet may have some nice specs, but it still fits well into the not that highly-featured family of phones from Cricket.
Compatible with Cricket’s AWS network, the JetSet is a typical Samsung clamshell, so don’t expect too much from its look:
The stuff you’ll get after buying a Samsung JetSet include:
-
2.1-inch TFT internal display, 262K colors and 240 x 320 pixels
-
1-inch TFT external display, 65K colors and 96 x 96 pixels
-
Tri-band CDMA 1xRTT, EVDO
-
2.0 MP camera, camcorder
-
MP3 player with touch-sensitive external keys
-
Stereo Bluetooth
