Samsung i617T released in Australia: Telstra’s own BlackJack II
Almost one year after the release of Samsung BlackJack II in the US, via AT&T, the smartphone is now available in Australia too, as Samsung i617T.
Launched today by Telstra, the i617T works on the famous Next G Australian network, said to be the fastest 3G network in the country.
Samsung i617T comes with the latest Windows Mobile 6.1 (the Standard edition) and a full QWERTY keyboard, so it’s obviously a device targeted at Telstra’s business customers. Features like Microsoft Mobile Office, Microsoft Push Email and full calendar synchronization are there to make sure the smartphone gets its business tasks done.

The recommended retail price of Samsung i617T is of $589, but Telstra sells the smartphone together with a multitude of data plans too, so users will actually be able to get it for less.
