SanDisk’s $15 slotMusic cards now shipping. Leona Lewis, Rhianna, Coldplay and many more coming your way

SanDisk announced its intention to launch slotMusic cards a few weeks ago, but with little details regarding included content, price and release date. Now the cards are shipping in the US and they should be available for purchase starting this week, from Best Buy and Wall-Mart.

The slotMusic cards are actually 1GB MicroSD cards packed with DRM-free MP3s from more than 40 international artists. They cost $14.99 a unit and can be used with most of the cell phones and portable music players on the market.

A small USB adapter comes in the box with every slotMusic card, allowing you to move your music to any Windows, Mac or Linux computer.

The world’s biggest music labels, Sony BMG, Universal Music, EMI and Warner Music Group, are providing content for the new cards.

Included artists, as presented by SanDisk, are:

  • ABBA
  • Coldplay
  • Chris Brown
  • Connie Talbot
  • Daughtry
  • Elvis Presley
