Orange exclusively releases HTC Touch HD in the UK

Wondering when will the new and powerful HTC Touch HD hit the UK? Well wonder no more, because Orange has just announced that it will start selling the handset in the UK in early November.

With an 18-month contract of at least £40 per month, British users will have to pay £79.99 ($126) for a HTC Touch HD. Orange will be the exclusive carrier of the device until 2009.

Most of you already know this, but it’s worth mentioning that the main attraction of HTC Touch HD is its large 3.8 inch TFT touchscreen display that supports a 800 x 480 pixel resolution.

Of course, the 12mm-thin Touch HD also comes with a set of many other advanced features, including:

  • Quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity, 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz
  • Dual band WCDMA/HSPA connectivity, 900 / 2100MHz
  • Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional
  • HTC TouchFLO 3D interface
  • 5 MP camera with autofocus and video
  • VGA front-facing camera
  • GPS & A-GPS
  • Wi-Fi
  • Qualcomm MSM7201a 528 MHz chipset
  • 512MB flash memory, 288MB RAM
  • MicroSD and MicroSDHC card support

HTC Touch HD will be available in all of Orange UK’s shops, as well as online and via Orange Telesales.

In the next few months, Orange will launch the Touch HD in France and Romania too.
