Samsung Delve officially announced by Alltel, $199 on contract
Samsung Delve, the full-touch handset rumored to debut soon via U.S. Cellular, was officially announced today by Alltel, one of U.S. Cellular’s main competitors.
The Delve is among those TouchWiz handsets that Samsung said, earlier this month, to be ready for the US market. Many will probably compare Alltel’s new handset with Sprint’s Samsung Instinct, since they have a similar design and also similar features.
The new Samsung will come with one of Alltel’s latest applications: nuTsie. This is a music app that allows users to get music from an extensive nuTsie catalog, as well as to stream iTunes playlists.
Apart from the customizable and widget-friendly TouchWiz UI, the main specs and features of Samsung Delve include:
-
3-inch TFT touchscreen display with 240 x 400 pixels
-
1x EVDO connectivity
-
GPS, Alltel Navigation
-
Virtual QWERTY keyboard
-
3.5mm headset jack
-
MP3 player
-
Bluetooth
-
Full HTML browser
-
Email
-
8GB of “external memory” – hence there’s a MicroSDHC card included
-
2 MP camera, video recording
-
Talk time: up to 330 minutes
-
Stand by time: up to 205 hours
-
3.89 x 1.93 x 0.55 inches
-
3.35 ounces
Samsung Delve is priced at $199, with a 2-yr contract agreement and after a $100 mail-in rebate. For the moment, the Delve can only be pre-ordered, via Alltel’s website. The handset will go on sale starting November 6, both online and in retail stores.
