Nokia’s smartphone roadmap unveils: a 8MP camera handset, three high-end touchscreen devices and more
Many of you may feel that Nokia’s latest S60 handsets could have offered much more than what they actually do. Well, you’ll probably be happy to find out that the Finnish giant manufacturer is working on some really hot and rich-featured smartphones.
An internal Nokia roadmap has just appeared on the Web, via Engadget Mobile, unveiling all of Nokia’s S60 smartphones in the works since 2007 and until the second half of 2009.
Since 2007 is not an interesting year anymore, because we know what Nokia has launched back then, we’ll talk only about the upcoming smartphones.
The first unreleased smartphone that caught my attention is the so called Nokia IP08, a handset that should feature:
-
A wide touchscreen display
-
A 5MP autofocus camera
-
Full QWERTY keyboard
-
AGPS
-
WiFi
-
FM radio and transmitter
-
TV-out
-
Bluetooth
Next on the list is Nokia Corolla. Its specs should include:
-
A 3-inch non-touch display with a VGA resolution
-
An 8 MP camera (a first for Nokia)
-
A “half QWERTY keyboard”
-
AGPS & Wi-Fi
-
HSPA
-
8GB of internal memory
Nokia Ivalo is another touchscreen smartphone that, apparently, will have a 3.5 inch display. Other specs are:
-
AGPS
-
Wi-Fi
-
5MP camera
-
Bluetooth
-
TV out
-
FM transmitter and receiver
-
32GB of internal memory
And finally, we have Nokia Eitri, a landscape candybar with a full QWERTY keyboard and:
-
A 3.5 inch touchscreen with 640 x 350 pixels
-
Pressure sensitive touch UI, tactile feedback and gesture support
-
Accelerometer and compass
-
Proximity sensor
-
5MP autofocus camera
-
8GB of expandable memory
Of course, there are other handsets that might interest you, so take a look at the whole Nokia smartphone roadmap:
We have to keep in mind that the upcoming handsets from above are not yet confirmed by Nokia. But let’s hope they will be, in the near future.
