Rogers gets official with Nokia E71
Canada’s largest mobile carrier, Rogers Wireless, has confirmed the upcoming release of Nokia E71, the smartphone announced by Nokia about four months ago.
There’s no press release from Rogers yet, but, according to MobileSyrup, the Canadian operator has released an official statement which says the E71 will be available soon. Hopefully, this “soon” means that the handset will be in Rogers’ stores before the end of November.
The 10mm-thick case of Nokia E71 will make it the thinnest smartphone that Rogers ever launched. Moreover, with the other on-board features (including the QWERTY keyboard, HSDPA connectivity, GPS, Wi-Fi and so on), the E71 is definitely a handset that can stand beside all the BlackBerry smartphones that Rogers is currently selling.
No details yet on the price of Nokia E71 from Rogers, but this will probably be unveiled in the coming weeks. By then, maybe the E66 or the newer E63 will be confirmed for a Canadian release too.
