Sony Ericsson C905a headed for AT&T?
As weird as it may sound, AT&T has never had a mobile phone with a camera to feature more than 3.2 Megapixels. The US carrier was close to releasing the 5MP Sony Ericsson K850, but this didn’t happen, unfortunately.
Now it seems that AT&T wants to go higher than 5MP and launch an 8MP camera phone: the Sony Ericsson C905a.
A C905a, locked on AT&T’s network and with AT&T firmware, was just sold on eBay, this meaning that the largest North American carrier might be readying the phone for a release in the near future.
Coming as the American version of Sony Ericsson C905, which is already on sale in Europe, the Sony Ericsson C905a offers quad-band GSM and tri-band UMTS/HSDPA connectivity (850 / 1900 / 2100 MHz), hence it’s more than suited to work on AT&T’s network.
Of course, until something official about this comes out, the C905a for AT&T is only a rumor. But one that would probably make lots of US users happy, since the phone is the flagship of Sony Ericsson’s Cyber-shot series.
