Nokia Maps 3.0 beta available for download
The latest iteration of Nokia Maps, namely Nokia Maps 3.0 beta, is now available as a free download, coming with lots of improvements and new features.
Since it’s still in beta, Nokia Maps 3.0 has some bugs, including compatibility issues with Nokia N96 (that’s why Nokia doesn’t recommend using the new version of the maps on it).
Also, the 3.0 beta version of Nokia Maps currently works only with handsets that run on Symbian S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2, so those who have Feature Pack 1 will have to wait a bit longer until they can enjoy the application.
Nokia Maps are now available via Nokia Ovi too, allowing us to make use of the synch feature, thus keeping our favorite places updated, on a PC and a mobile phone as well.
Here are the main novelties that Nokia Maps 3.0 brings:
-
Overall improvements in design, content and map data quality
-
3D landmarks for more than 200 major cities
-
Hi-resolution aerial images for Satellite and Hybrid map modes
-
New Terrain map mode
-
Improved car navigation
-
Improved pedestrian navigation
Nokia Maps 3.0 can be downloaded from the Nokia Beta Labs website or from here (direct download link).
