Truphone turns your iPod touch into a cell phone
If you’ve often wanted your iPod touch to feature phone capabilities, Truphone now has the solution.
The UK-based company has come up with a free app for the iPod touch that kind of turns the device into an iPhone.
Provided that you have a microphone adaptor, Truphone for iPod touch lets you make free calls to other users of Truphone’s Internet telephony service, other iPod touch owners and to Google Talk users.
The new app will soon have many more features, including:
-
Making and receiving low-cost calls to and from landlines
-
Calling and instant messaging to Skype and MSN (free)
-
Check and set facilities for Facebook (free)
-
Check and set facilities for Twitter (free)
Truphone for iPod touch can be downloaded right away via the App Store, at this address.
