Affordable Nokia 2605 Mirage available via Verizon
Nokia and the US aren’t exactly best friends, but that doesn’t mean the company can’t launch a phone in there from time to time.
The latest Finnish handset to land in North America is Nokia 2605 Mirage, a clamshell that has just been released by Verizon Wireless.
The 2605 Mirage comes many months after Nokia 6205 (The Dark Knight edition included too), another clamshell that somehow made it to Verizon’s line-up of products.
Feature-wise, Nokia 2605 Mirage is not a phone to be too proud of, but worry not, as Verizon only asks $49.99 for it (with a 2-yr contract, of course). This might make the handset a best-seller, given both the Holiday season and the current economic situation.

Here’s what Nokia 2605 Mirage has to offer:
-
1.8 inch TFT internal display with 262K colors and 128 x 160 pixels
-
1.2 inch CSTN external display with 65K colors and 128 x 128 pixels
-
Nokia Xpress-on covers (or snaps, as Verizon says)
-
VZ Navigator
-
Bluetooth 2.0
-
Mobile Web
-
VGA camera
-
Speakerphone
-
Voice recognition
-
Talk time: up to 210 minutes
-
Standby time: up to 240 hours
-
Weight: 2.32 oz
-
Dimensions: 3.22 x 1.65 x 0.62 in

For the time being, Nokia 2605 Mirage is available only online, via Verizon’s official website. Starting January 23, 2009, customers will be able to find the phone in the carrier’s retail stores too.
