Visa Mobile makes its debut on Android
To help you track your transactions during this year’s holiday season, Visa Mobile has been introduced for use in Android devices such as the T-Mobile G1. Of course, this new mobile finance application will work on other handsets, too, as long as they are running the open-source Google Android OS.
To support its launch, fourteen leading national merchants are up for it, including 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Bonefish Grill, eBags.com, eMusic.com, FragranceNet.com, Jos. A. Bank, Lenovo, Overstock.com, Planet Hollywood, Restaurant.com and Shoes.com.

What’s so good about the Visa Mobile application for Android is its three-prong service, which consists of Alerts, Offers, and Locator.
Alerts is a “near real-time notification of Visa account activity based on cardholder preferences, such as the size of the transaction, or whether the transaction is in foreign currency.” Offers give users access to offers from any of the participating merchants directly to their phonem ranging from discounts, loyalty points and statement credits. Lastly, Locator is a service that’s integrated with Google Maps™ and Google location-based services to show consumers the nearby locations of merchants sending them offers, or of an ATM that accepts Visa.
It is said that Chase Visa credit and debit cardholders will have exclusive access to the Visa Mobile application for a limited time, so if you’re one of those, go ahead and try out Visa Mobile for Android now.
