I dont know what is going on with ATT but this statement is just not true in my area. I had two 2g iphones.. Then my top button broke so I bought a 3g while my wife still has a 2g. For the last two weeks I little to mostly no service with my 3g while my wife has full bars with her 2g with no issues. I can drive in any direction out of my town to then find that I have perfect service. Even in rural areas...
