LG sold 5 million Viewty phones; new colors unveiled
LG announced today that, 14 months after its release, the LG Viewty camera phone was sold in more than 5 million units worldwide.
350,000 units were shipped in the company’s homeland, South Korea, while about 4,650,000 units were sold overseas, mostly across Europe and Asia.
In addition to announcing these numbers, LG has also unveiled several new colors for the popular 5MP handset. Well, we already saw it in a bunch of colors, including red and pink, but from now on Viewty will also come in blue and light silver.
LG hopes to reiterate Viewty’s success with the KC910 Renoir. And, since this one comes as the 8MP official successor of Viewty, it surely has lots of chances to be sold in many units. But we can’t know for now just how many.
