Palm Pre coming to Europe in early H2 for $500-550. $399 on Sprint
Palm had one impressive device announced yesterday with their WebOS based Palm Pre.
But for us here in Europe, there was a touch of unease. Current Palm Pre is CDMA phone and is going exclusively to Sprint in U.S.
Should we have to wait for more then a year for the next gen device , like we did with you know what?
Fear not. Palm is already working on a GSM/UMTS Pre device and it should hit U.K. and several other European markets sometime in the second half of the year.

This was confirmed by Paul Ghent, VP of sales for Palm Europe. So it’s a pretty solid thing.
The less solid, but I believe rather reliable, info comes from Eldar Murtazin of Mobile-review.
On his personal blog Eldar says that European version “… will be launched around a mid year. Actually both versions (U.S. and European) will be launched almost at the same time (within a month, maximum two)”
From which I guess that Sprint Palm Pre will hit the market late in H1 (around May-June) and European Palm Pre will come out in July-August.
Eldar also got the price points for the new Palm Pre devices. In Europe, unlocked, Palm Pre will cost $500-$550. And the price of Palm Pre on Sprint will be $399.
