At CES 2009, Eye-Fi Offers SD cards with WiFi

Eye-Fi has come out with an innovative way to save pictures onto your computer remotely, without any extra hassle: why not embed WiFi into a SD card to allow you to upload your pictures right away?

At their booth at CES, they took my picture using their card and within 10 seconds my picture popped up on their computer screen.

While the company has been around for a while, the latest tech brought to CES this year was the ability to upload videos to YouTube directly from the digital camcorder. Now THAT is a crazy idea, to say the least.

Also in the works is an iPhone app that will allow pics to be uploaded into the same database as your pics from the Eye-Fi card. However, there is a catch — you will not be able to set up an account with EyeFi without purchasing one of their memory cards.
