HTC Touch Diamond2 and HTC Touch Pro2 – high-class Windows Mobile handsets

I’m not sure how many of you expected this (there were no leaks, nor rumors whatsoever), but HTC has just unveiled, at MWC 2009, two brand new smartphones: HTC Touch Diamond2 and HTC Touch Pro2.

Needless to say, the new devices are meant to replace the highly-popular Touch Diamond and Touch Pro.

In consequence, they come with a revamped design, as well as more features, including HTC’s Push Internet technology – according to the company, this “alleviates slow downloading and rendering of Web pages on a mobile phone. Users can preselect their favorite Websites to get immediate access to them when needed.”

Now let’s meet the HTC Touch Diamond2 better.

The Taiwanese manufacturer decided to lose the diamond-like back-cover, widen the display, add a better camera and so on.

The result? Take a look for yourself:

Here’s what HTC Touch Diamond2 has to offer:

HTC Touch Pro2 has a more rounded design than the original Touch Pro, and it obviously comes with a full QWERTY keyboard. A cool thing is that its display tilts up – just like on the HTC TyTN II (aka AT&T Tilt).

With Touch Pro2, HTC introduces Straight Talk – a new technology aimed at delivering “an integrated email, voice and speakerphone experience”. The technology further provides “high-fidelity voice and sound experience enhanced by asymmetric speakers and advanced noise suppression with full duplex acoustics.”

The display of Pro2 is a 3.6 inch one with a 480 x 800 resolution. Its camera has 3.2MP, while its battery is a 1500 mAh one. Other than that, the smartphone’s features are similar to the ones of Touch Diamond2.

HTC Touch Diamond2 will be available starting the second quarter of 2009, while HTC Touch Pro2 should go on sale starting this summer. Their prices have not been announced yet.
