#MWC09: HTC Touch Diamond2 preview video

Looks like we have a company that managed to keep the lid on all premature leaks on its MWC 09 products.

It is HTC, which came out with 2 new phones today – HTC Touch Diamond2 and HTC Touch Pro2.

Even the recently leaked HTC product roadmap did not provide many clues at what’s coming today. Even though it appears that Touch Diamond2 was pictured as HTC Topaz, the tiny pic didn’t help much.

Well, we’ve got some hands-on time with HTC Touch Diamond2 today and also asked a company rep to do a little video presentation of new features:

Overall, I can say that I’m impressed.

The touchscreen on HTC Touch Diamond2 feels very responsive, navigation is smooth and intuitive, TouchFLO 3D interface looks impressive. As far as touchscreen phones reviewed today go, Diamond2 feels the best for now.

HTC plans to launch Touch Diamond2 in the first half of the year. Early devices will run on Windows Mobile 6.1, but HTC will offer free upgrades to WinMo 6.5 for new handsets.

    I am eager to get my hands on this phone (HTC Touch Diamond 2)

    I also appreciate the fact that it's supposed to come with a removable SD card – the main reason I want the new phone – besides the new TF3D and the excellent screen.

    But how in the world will I ever be able to live without a Dpad? It will take a bit of getting used to.
