Motorola Touch Zine HD?? Probably fake
Remember high-res touchscreen phone from Motorola we told you about last week?
I still don’t know whether it’s just a Photoshop job by a talented fan, or a real thing. Actually, for now I am leaning towards the Photoshop.
But just in case it is not, some much better resolution pics of this handset have appeared on the net and they even got the name of the phone next to them:
Motorola Touch ZINE – HD
Here’s some high quality pictures of it:
As you can see, the pictures are exactly the same as the ones that appeared last week, only in better quality. There’s also a video slideshow of these pics posted on YouTube:
Both, video and pictures seem to come from Christyan Yury, aka Yury Cassini from Brazil.
In comments to the video Yury claims that the phone is real, and names some specs of Motorola TouchZine HD, including:
- Android OS
- NVIDIA Tegra chip
- HDMI connectivity
- 1080p HD video playback
- 5 megapixel camera with HD video recording
- 16GB of memory
- only 4 physical buttons (volume, camera and lock)
- Motorola apps: MotoVideoMaker, MotoMusicMaker, MotoImageMaker
Yury also claims that he is involved in the development of MOTO Touch Zine HD.
Looks really interesting, but quick look at Yury’s profile and earlier uploaded videos show him as a fan of Motorola, but no serious insider access.
Also the slideshow is copyrighted to “Motorola Elctronics“, with Yury’s e-mail address at motomail.com – a non-working domain registered to Motor Bookstore from Florida. Doesn’t sound too convincing, does it?
So for now I’m filing this as a complete rumor, and a very likely just a Photoshop job. But one can have a dream once in a while, and I really wish Motorola TouchZine HD to be the real thing.
For now we’ll just have to wait and hope.
And, if, by some miracle, MotoZine Touch HD is the real thing, we may not have to wait long. We know that release of new generation of Motorola phones is scheduled for Q4 this year. And we also know that Motorola has a terrible record of keeping their upcoming releases under wraps.
So if there is any substance to this rumor, we should start getting more leaks very soon. Stay tuned
Update: More indications that this one’s a fake start to surface. Engadget mobile says that pictures show phone connected to a composite RCA cable, which isn’t gonna cut it for 1080p — and we’re not buying that the display itself is going to be capable of that kind of resolution. And Adrophones.com gives compelling proof that this is a Photoshop job combining images of ROKR E8 and ZN5 phones.
