Samsung S5600 and S5230 affordable touchscreen handsets announced

Samsung has been doing quite well lately with its full touchscreen phones. Especially with its 2008 flagship Samsung F480.

But that handset is getting a bit old and various cosmetic refreshments can go only so far in propping up sales.

Being at the higher end of the market does not help Samsung F480 much too. Especially with LG Cookie and LG Cooky breathing down its neck.

So today Samsung officially announces two new full touchscreen phones targeted towards mid-to-lower tier market segments – Samsung  S5600 we told you about a couple of weeks ago (on the left)  and Samsung S5230 (on the right).

Another handset is a 2.5G Samsung S5230, with very similar specs and a bit bigger screen. Its  specs are:

Samsung S5600 will start shipping in May, and Samsung S5230 will hit the stores in April. Both phones are headed for Europe.
