Sleek Samsung Lucido S7220 candybar officially announced

We first heard about slim candybar Samsung Eltz S7220 more then a month ago, expecting it to be officially launched at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Well, MWC has come and gone, but Samsung S7220 remained under wraps Well, I guess Samsung S7220 was present at MWC as Soul b, hidden somewhere in the corner and among a bunch of handsets on Samsung MWC site. But without much fanfare, official PR and completely overshadowed by shiny Samsung OmniaHD, Samsung Ultra Touch and Beat DJ.

Until today, when Samsung has decided to officially announce it in U.K. with a new trade name.

From now own S7220 will be known as Samsung Lucido (meaning “Sleek” in Italian).

    This is so old. It WAS on MWC and it's name is 7220 Ultra b. UnwiredView mixed up. Even that time some popular sites published their previews of this phone.
  • Yes, I know perfectly well about Ultra b and the supposedly official
    announcement of it during MWC. The problem is that there wasn't one.

    There was a post claiming the official announcement of S7220 at SamsungHub,
    that everyone else referenced, but that does not make the phone officially
    announced. I haven't seen a single official PR from Samsung regarding S7220.

    And the phone itself was NOT present at MWC, at least in the areas open to
    public and press. I may have missed it while checking Samsung stand at MWC.
    But if the phone was there - certainly someone would have taken a shot and
    posted it somewhere. The probelem is - I can not find a single live pic of
    S7220 from MWC.

    The only live pictures of S7220 Eltz are those that leaked a week before
    MWC.

    Unless I am missing something and you can provide links proving me wrong

    Obviously, GSMArena had access in the Samsung booth on MWC and took live pics. Also they published their preview on that day based on another unit in their office.
