Sony Ericsson W518a – a W508 with GPS?
By Ilinca Nita on 16 Mar 09Officially announced at the beginning of January 2009, Sony Ericsson W508 is not yet available for purchase. But it should be starting Q2 2009, both in Europe and in the Americas (as W508a).
Now we’re hearing there’s a Sony Ericsson W518a in the making, which looks similar to the W508 and it also has the same specs.
The novelty is the fact that the W518a also has A-GPS – a feature not present in the W508.
There’s no image with the W518a yet, but since it’s like a W508, the new clamshell should look like this:
Needless to say, Sony Ericsson W518a is targeted for America, although there’s no info on when it will be launched. There might be a W518 version too, for Europe and Asia – but that’s obviously not confirmed.
We’ll have more on this as soon as new details emerge.
