Samsung Movies for mobile service launched
There’s a reason Samsung is putting these gorgeous AMOLED displays on their latest touchscreen phones like Samsung Omnia HD or UltraTouch.
It’s so that you’ll could watch the latest movies on them and give Samsung a cut for the service. What service is that?
Well, downloadable movie store, of course.
Today Samsung has announced that it is launching Samsung Movies service – a dedicated movie store powered by Acetrax that will allow compatible Samsung handset, PC and laptop owners to download the movies and TV shows over the Net.
I’m not sure whether your laptop or desktop has to come from Samsung as well. I hope not, and some software from Samsung pr Acetrax will do the trick, but you never know with these things.
The services initially rolls out in U.K. and Germany and will feature 500 titles from Warner Bros., Paramount, Universal and Momentum pictures. Dark Knight, Ironman, Gossip Girl, E.R. and Friends among them.
Later this year Samsung Movies should come to other major European markets, adding 500 more titles by the end of March and 1000 more by the end of June.
The movies and TV shows are available from £2.49 a pop for 24 hrs rental or £4.99 to own. You can find Samsung Movies at www.samsungmovies.com
