Let’s all put our rumor hats on again and start assuming stuff, shall we? Sounds like a good plan! This time we have word that Fido is getting ready to rid itselves of its 16 GB iPhone 3G inventory in early April and there are no plans to reorder a fresh supply.
Hmm. That brings us to two possible theories: either Fido has just decided to stop selling iPhone 3G’s altogether in an effort to reach out to more entry-level consumers, or the Canadian carrier is anticipating a fresh new device to stock its shelves with.
If this is really the case, it means we should start hearing reports of other carriers following suit. Will Fido be the only ones? Once we find an answer to that question, we should also have a pretty good idea which theory is correct.
Let’s just keep hoping it is the latter of the two theories that will be correct.
If you are a Fido customer and have been mulling over the prospect of getting the iPhone 3G, perhaps now is a good time to look into it. We are hoping the prices will also go down as a result.
The 16 GB inventory will be depleted but according to analysts the 8 GB model will be sticking around.
