#CTIA09: HTC Snap/S522 with Inner Circle

When arriving at the HTC booth at CTIA 2009 we were certainly expecting to see new handsets such as the Maple make its debut and receive all the buzz. Yesterday we were handed a curveball however when HTC instead announced the Snap, also to be called the S522 in the US.

The HTC Snap appears to be a revamped T-Mobile Dash complete with rollerball and small housing. But the buzz about the Snap isn’t because of its size, speed, or camera. Rather, it is about the new “Inner Circle” email system HTC is releasing.

No, Inner Circle is not what the fave 5 service Alltel and Verizon are advertising; it is an innovative way to collect your email. Say you have hundreds of people sending you emails, and the emails with top priority keep getting buried underneath all the Nordstroms member discounts and other junk that doesn’t take precedence. Inner Circle lets you choose people whose emails will stay on the top of your inbox until you’ve read them, so they don’t get buried under less important emails.

Other notable features of the Snap include HSDPA, 1500 mAh battery, WiFi/GPS and 2 MP camera.

Here is a video and picture selection for your perusal.
