Samsung Trance to hit Verizon on April 24 for $50
In case Verizon’s brand new Touch Diamond is too expensive for you (and it probably is, at $300 on contract), the giant North American carrier is preparing another new fashionable phone: the Samsung Trance U490.
Sure, we can’t compare the Diamond with the Trance, but if all you need is a cool and affordable handset, then the latter is surely a better choice for you than the HTC-made device is.
According to BGR, Samsung Trance will be available from Verizon starting April 24 (two weeks after the Touch Diamond). It will cost $49.99 with a 2-yr contract agreement and a $50 mail-in rebate, or $219.99 sans contract.
If you don’t know yet, Samsung Trance is a mid-end music-oriented slider that looks quite nice:

The phone’s features include:
- 2.1 inch display with 176 x 220 pixels
- Bang & Olufsen ICEpower audio technology
- 3.5mm headset jack
- Bluetooth (you can have two stereo Bluetooth connections at the same time)
- VZ Navigator
- Web browser
- 1.3 MP camera
- 1GB of internal memory
- MicroSDHC card support, up to 16GB
All in all, Samsung Trance U490 seems to be a decent music handset (too bad for the rather low display resolution).
